I like to fuss over a piece of artwork until I get shape of every curve perfect. I went back and forth to this fairy illustration all day until I was finally happy with it.

This one was one of my bigger challenges. Trying to get the stork, being mostly a collection of very light grays, to read well had me trying all kind of things. The cloud behind most of him seems to work the best.

I never thought much of clip art before I opened my Etsy Shop, because most of it is pretty cheesy. I've tried my best to bring something good to the world of clip art since I've been selling on Etsy. With this mermaid I really tried to take it over the top.
If you found this post looking for mermaid clip art, the files (svg, dxf, eps, pdf, png, jpg) are available at the following link.
I designed three pool foot toys for my Etsy store. Designing toys for real sure would be fun. If you're a toy company rep, bring it on. Shoot me an email!
If you found this post looking for clip art and vector art, I will include links to download the files after the image.
I illustrated an Eiffel Tower for one of my Meet the Composer video and thought it might be a hit on Etsy. It's been almost 6 months since I launched my store, and it's been a best seller. Wahoo!

I love over the top wacky stuff, so this candy monster certainly kept me entertained. With so many layers I this project kept me entertained for awhile, experimenting with colors, values, etc. to get everything dialed in.

I might have taken "artsy" too far with this Etsy shop addition, but I like it.
I've made 100 sales as of the date of this post, so I'm still getting the feel for what DYI craft folks want. So far it's been mostly musical instrument designs and cute animals. This will be the test to see if there is interest in artsy stuff too.

Posting to Etsy every day for 2 1/2 months has me drawing like crazy. With this Toucan Bird illustration I added gradients which really made the colors pop. It was lots of fun to create and I've already sold a few!

I doodled this image in my church notebook a few years back. It's so much fun that I had to include a vector illustration in the Etsy store we started at MakingMusicFun.net last month.
It's two treble clefs all dressed up and out for a night of dancing.
I'm continuing to build out the new Etsy Shop with illustrations. I understand you need to try to post something everyday to get things going, so I'll be sharing more in the future.
Most of the illustrations so far have been from MakingMusicFun.net products. This one is a new one that's exclusive to the Etsy shop. I was up late last night and decided to try a squirrel holding a nut.
I like the way he turned out. I hope you enjoy it too.

About a decade ago my wife and I attended an incredible Big Bad Voodoo Daddy (a swing band) concert at the Ventura County Fair in California. When I got home I designed this image.
At MakingMusicFun.net, we've decided to try to get a little more mileage out of the effort I put into the illustrations by listing some of them on Etsy for crafters.
I'm always learning something new, so the original design looked like it need a little sprucing up. Here's the final version that we added to our Etsy shop.
At MakingMusicFun.net we've been creating free popsicle stick theater production videos for major composers a little over a year now, including videos for Beethoven, Mozart and John Williams.
In an effort to get a little more mileage out of the effort I put into designing the images for theses videos we're listing some of them on Etsy for crafters and classroom teachers.
Music classroom teachers may enjoy using these images for posters or manipulatives. Crafters may enjoy making a t-shirt for their grandchildren/music enthusiasts.
If you're interested you can check out the Meet John Williams Popsicle Stick Theater Production video below.
I've been creating images for MakingMusicFun.net products since 2007. The products sell well, but we wanted to get a little more mileage out of the effort I put into designing the images so we're listing them on Etsy for crafters. Maybe someday I'll be bopping around town and see this little guy on a t-shirt.
